Have you ever stepped foot out of your house and regretted it? No? Now you will. These creepy images will make you wonder how us humans have lived this long on earth with Mother Nature. Or make you ponder about the time when our ancestors put up with all this during the Stone Age. I mean, why leave the comfort of your own home instead of risking your life? (OK that was obviously an exaggeration, but still!) Some of you may find these beautifully horrific, others may find these simply disturbing. Best leave it for Discovery Channel to document what some of us might prefer to miss out on.
Mother Nature Loves To Scare The Hell Out Of People!
An owl with a nest made of lemmings.
Fresh food all around, also probably keeps intruders out. Wise decision. (Get it? Wise? Owl? Heh.)
Cicada shedding its shell.
Guess it was time for a makeover.
Hornets that made their hive on wind chimes.
Don't think the owner of those wind chimes it gonna get that back anytime soon.
A parasite that lives as a tongue.
A Cymothoa Exigua enters the gills of a fish, severs the blood vessels until its tongue falls off and takes over. This is the only parasite known to consume and replace its host's organs. Weird.
The portal to hell?
Nope, just a lava pit. Either way, your soul would probably be damned falling through here.
Half-eaten crab inside a mussel.
I didn't order crab, but won't be complaining if they gave me one for free. It's so petite.
This hermit crab found its way into a doll head.
As if doll heads weren't scary enough as it is. *shivers*
Eulagisca Gigantea.
Diet unknown. But it looks like something I would hang on the wall during Halloween AND Christmas. Very cute. NOT!
This fish has human teeth. Or this set of human teeth has a fish.
Hmm, show me that Colgate smile.
Just a dried up frog that seemed dead at first.
The guy apparently splashed water onto it and it came back to life. Must have made him... Hop (ha!).
Hornets that decided to nest on a toy doll.
KILL IT WITH FIRE. Enough with the creepy dolls!
Hornet's nest that fused on a wooden statue.
This looks like it can be used as a prop for a horror movie, TBH.
Mother centipede cuddling with her offspring.
OK, I must admit, this is kinda cute.
Pythons decided to stay with those of the same skin color as themselves.
They just hatched too. Is this proof that racism is born and not taught?
Parasite on bats.
This is a wingless fly penicillidia. A parasite that is found exclusively on bats, and never leaves its host.
A poor fox that drowned, unfortunately.
Someone sliced the bit of ice where this fox drowned from, using it to warn others to avoid walking on the ice and receive the same fate. (Honestly, wouldn't this plan backfire if people were curious to see what this was?)
Skeleton of a puffer fish.
Either bury it or put a warning sign before somebody steps on that thing.
Caribou bull with shedding antlers.
Kind of like our teeth, antlers are exposed bones. Except they shed every winter, which our teeth don't do thankfully.
Dead flowers that look like skulls.
That middle one is staring right at you.
An island of ants, struggling to survive during a flood.
I'm sure there were millions of casualties. RIP.
The inside of a lamprey's mouth.
Surely there are horror movies with creatures inspired from this.
Clathrus Archeri.
Also known as devil's fingers. Good idea to have these on your front lawn to scare intruders IMO.
A fish with a big nose.
It should probably mind its own business.
