Danna Sedgwick trimmed her pubic hair but ended up cutting a little spot near her groin. This little cut almost took her life and had her hospitalized for months followed by 21 surgeries in four years with little to no hope if she would be able to survive or walk again ever in life.

Danna 44, mother of 3 almost lost her life by trimming her pubic hair where a bacteria caused infection in a small cut near her groin. Dana at first thought it was a small pimple and was due to a rash which she faces quite often when she waxes her body.
3 days later she started feeling dizzy and nauseous. She then went to her local doctor who took samples and gave her antibiotics.

Later her doctor called to tell her that this is serious and she needs to go for further testing. But later that day while on her way to the hospital with her husband Dana collapsed.
She was immediately transferred to the surgical ward where doctors tirelessly did surgery on her legs to save them from being amputating removing deep layers of rotten flesh and later grafting her legs skin with the skin from her back.

Her leg area around the groin had become black and was almost completely rotten due to a condition called as necrotising fasciitis where the bacteria has released toxins and have caused her legs to rot.
Doctors told her family that she had a 30% chance of survival as her kidneys have also failed and if she does survive she would never be able to walk again.

But Dana, with her determination and love and support from her family, proved the doctors wrong and not only she was able to survive this ordeal but also was able to walk on crutches after intense physiotherapy.

According to her, "It was horrific. All of my muscle had rotted away, and I had a crater of skin near my groin. I felt like I was going to throw up. But I knew that it could have been much, much worse. I could easily have lost my legs - or worse, died."

Dana who has been left with extensive scarring felt like her body didn't belong to her anymore. She became depressed. But she claims that with the support of her husband she came to see her scars as her medals. To remind her how much she have fought and how brave she was to win this battle with her determination and willpower.
