This is the jaw-dropping moment a British tourist was chased down a Nepalese mountain by a local tea seller with wooden clubs after she complained about being overcharged for tea.

A British tourist, who was enjoying her time discovering the mountainous Nepal, had a mad encounter with an angry local all because of a cup of tea.

Gemma Wilson was then out for a day trek along the Annapurna Circuit with her teen stepson. Exhausted, they then decided to stop by a tea house to buy refreshments.

The holidaymaker complained about being charged 150 rupees (£1) for a black tea and insisted she usually paid less.Gemma then told the owner about her concern but paid their drinks anyway.

Dramatic GoPro footage shows the pair attempting to get away from the local, who is chasing them with two large planks of wood and throwing rocks at them.

She said about the incident:

“I always ask how much something is first before buying and for some reason I didn’t this time. I had always paid 50 rupees for black tea…When I got up to pay she told it was 150 rupee. I asked her again and she repeated it, so I got the money out and paid her, but I said to her it was seriously pricey.”

Gemma can be heard begging for her life as the woman threatens them, saying she didn't dare fight back in case she slipped off the narrow mountain path to her death.

Gemma said: 'She went to the door and picked up a big plank of wood and she was screaming at me. She tried to hit me with it.

The incident was captured on a camera worn on Ms. Wilson’s body.

In the video, the tea seller can be heard saying: “You English people are rich, Why bargain?” Reports tell us that Gemma was left unharmed but she was bruised on her hand.
