However, thankfully for her, it's all an illusion, with her play-acting dad donning an elf suit.
It's not often that a Christmas elf has little children running away in dear.
But that was the reaction of a little girl when her dad appeared in a rather freaky fancy dress outfit.
Her goofball dad had dressed himself in a hilarious outfit that looks (slightly) like he is being carried by one of Santa's helpers.
His daughter initially peers at him in awe as he wobbles into the room pretending the elf is struggling to hold him.
But then she decides the whole thing is too scary.
She runs off as her dad yells: "Watch out Ruth".
He continues to stumble back and forth as he cries out to his elf: "Stay still!"
The clip, that has been shared on Facebook, begins with the little girl peering around the corner into the kitchen, before out bundles her father in the outfit.
