Mom shares doorbell cam video with parenting advice to help all new parents who might be overwhelmed. She says to focus on the things kids will remember rather than daily tasks.
Mothers have a lot on their plate and with three young children needing her constant attention, it's no surprise Monica Murphy was overwhelmed. She was also recovering from a C-section while nursing.
That is when her mother came around to help.
Murphy had been harboring a lot of guilt over letting things fall through the cracks.
She shared what her daily to-do list looked like in an Instagram post and felt like she was falling behind on household tasks.
She wondered how it could be possible to stay on track. “How on earth can one person do it all?”
Murphy had kept these concerns under wraps but mother knows all and when her mom came to visit, she knew her daughter needed a little bit of advice.
She can be seen exiting the home on the doorbell cam and says, “They aren’t gonna remember a clean house, they are gonna remember how much you loved them and hung out with them.”
And as we think back to our own childhoods, mom cannot be more right.
What matters most is the relationship you build with your child.
For Murphy, these words meant the world and she broke down crying once her mother left and was inspired to share this same inspiration with mothers who may be feeling the same way.
Not everyone had a mom like Murphy does.
One commenter said, “My mom would just nag I’m lazy and how am I supposed to leave my house a mess. So I’m just easing my anxiety with gentle words from other people’s mothers. As I’ve been doing my whole life. Clean house was above happy children.”
Another added, “The way I would’ve just bawled if she said that to me.”
