Parents Fell Fast Asleep On The Sofa During Their Newborn Baby's Photoshoot

Being a parent to a newborn is stressful, and most people will sleep whenever they can, even if it's in the middle of a newborn session at a photographic studio. Sarah Jankowski, the owner of Simply Joyful Moments Photography in Georgia, was setting up some nice photographs with a baby recently when the infant's mother and father fell asleep.

The photographer was overjoyed to be able to catch the moment on film, with the newborn curled up comfortably in the front and her exhausted parents passed out on a couch a few feet behind.

'Mom and Dad were telling me how their baby was keeping them up a lot and how tired they were. This was their first child, so it was all new to them,' Sarah told Kidspot.

She advised them to rest and simply enjoy the photoshoot. Sarah had set up some lovely photos, and they were both out cold before she realized it.

Sarah wasn't completely taken aback.

'I keep my studio nice and warm for the babies and there is dim lighting and white noise so it is a very calm and relaxing space,' she said.

She said it was 'the sweetest thing' to see 'these two exhausted parents, curled up in each other's arms, completely asleep.'

Amanda Walker, her assistant, took a snapshot of the snoozing couple to show them later after she pointed them out.

'You could tell they needed a nap, so we didn't wake them,' she said, adding that the nap was 'well-deserved.'

They awoke 45 minutes later, 'overjoyed' to have had a chance to relax for a while.

Sarah, a mother of four, said that this was "not the first time" a parent fell asleep in her studio, but it was typically only the father.

The photographer then posted the amusing photo to Facebook, where it has received a lot of likes and comments from other parents who can relate.

'This makes me SO happy!!' one doula wrote, adding: 'This birth doula wants to high five you so bad! Not only did they get some awesome photos of their squish, but they also got some much-deserved rest.'

Many other people praised the new parents for sneaking in some rest whenever they can, with one person writing: 'This is too awesome! A great photog in action and I'm glad that mom and dad got a nap in. Bless their hearts they probably hadn't slept that good since before the pregnancy.'

Another person chimed in: 'This makes my heart smile... being a new Mommy and Daddy is hard exhausting work!'

One fellow mom then wrote: 'I LOVE this and this amazing family!!! What a blessing! Thank you for capturing this special sleepy moment that speaks to so many of us!'
