If you get easily scared, you might not want to watch this video.

People from different places have stories about mythical creatures, like the 'flesh runners' in the Appalachian Mountains or Big Foot in Colorado.

Another famous story is about the Chupacabra, thought to be somewhere in the Americas.

It's called 'goat-sucker' because it's said to drink the blood of animals, especially goats.

It would have been mistaken for the purple monster from Monsters University named Art if it had just had two legs.

By the time this article was written, around 11 million people had watched the social media video.

Others have commented on the video and expressed their opinions, some of which speculate that it might be something evil because it's still not entirely clear what it is.

Someone wrote: "Hmm, very creepy. Probably a shape-shifter."

"My first guess: a troll. My second guess: has to be el chupacabras," penned a second.

"Looks like something that crawled out of hell," a different person said.

However, some weren't as convinced.

"That's the owner of the dog crawling like that," suggested one person, while another added: "That’s a person in a hoodie walking funny on all fours."

Some commented elsewhere on how courageous the dogs were to approach the unsettling creature.

"Those are some brave dogs, personally I would have ran," an X-user commented.

And I think that's generally true.

It appears to be something that could have emerged from the notorious "Cave of Death" in Costa Rica.

Though you would expect the cave would be hundreds of feet deep, it is only said to be two meters deep. It is situated on the brink of the Poas Volcano.

It's the high carbon dioxide content within the cave that makes it so deadly.

"At higher concentrations, it leads to an increased respiratory rate, tachycardia, cardiac arrhythmias, and impaired consciousness. Concentrations >10 percent may cause convulsions, coma, and death. Solid carbon dioxide may cause burns following direct contact," the National Library of Medicine notes.
