"Those are scootched eggs, not scrambled."
An employee from McDonald's has shared the behind-the-scenes process of making scrambled eggs at her location, leaving social media users quite surprised.
Making scrambled eggs might seem straightforward, but achieving the perfect consistency is a tricky endeavor.
Too little time on the heat and you're left with an undercooked mess; leave them on for too long, and you're eating something akin to wet cardboard.
Of course, this all boils down to personal preference.

Despite everyone having their own way of cooking eggs, a revelation from a McDonald's worker about how she prepares scrambled eggs during her shifts has drawn widespread attention on TikTok.
The TikToker, known as Yaniii on her account @kallme.yaniii, shared a video in September 2022, detailing the scrambled egg preparation process at her McDonald's branch.
In her video, Yaniii starts by squirting some butter from a bottle onto the grill, followed by pouring "liquid egg" from a carton branded with the McDonald's logo onto the surface.
The grill then fills with a vivid yellow liquid, reminiscent of a scene where one might imagine melting Simpson's onto the cooking surface.
Yaniii, armed with a spatula, begins the scrambling process.
She humorously remarks, "I just learnt how to make scrambled eggs at McDonalds, so don't pick on my scrambled eggs," as she maneuvers the eggs with a tool that resembles a large, thick fork.
As she works the eggs, they start to clump together, gradually forming into a recognizable scrambled egg texture.
The employee then divides the egg mixture into four portions, continues scrambling, and finally scoops each portion into a tray using a spatula.
It's true that scrambled eggs might not always look appealing, but the visual aspect didn't stop the flood of comments on Yaniii's post as viewers shared their thoughts on McDonald's egg-cooking technique.
One surprised TikToker asked, "DO YALL NOT FLIP THEM?? WHAT ABOUT THE UNCOOKED LIQUID ON TOP!!"
Another chimed in with, "Those are scootched eggs, not scrambled,"
While a third added, "I knew McDonald's don't season the eggs, if so, im sorru." Another simply stated, "That's not done."
However, some users shared different experiences, with one noting, "My McDonald's makes scrambled eggs a different way, never seen this way."
The discussion didn't stop on TikTok; it even made its way to Facebook, where a user pointed out:
"Posts like this really reinforce my belief that everyone, at least even for a few months, needs to work in some kind of food industry."
"It's crazy to me how so many people still think fast food places have the time to crack individual eggs or make soup from scratch upon ordering or whatever."
