Plumber Attempts To Scam Elderly Woman Until She Removes Her Wig And Reveals She’s Undercover

Reporter Lisa Guerrero recruited the services of Emmy-winning makeup artist Ben Adams to disguise herself as a senior citizen, complete with a wig and walker to catch a fraudster in action.

Elderly residents in Johnson City, Tennessee, complained about the conduct of a local plumber. In fact, one of the women went into debt while trying to pay for the repairs. 

The plumber allegedly charged the poor woman for work she did not require.

The woman used a credit card and a home equity cash advance to pay her payments.

The entire sum was thousands of dollars. The elderly believe they were cheated out of $100,000 in total.

One of this fraudster's clients is 78-year-old Audrey Guion, who told INSIDE EDITION: “I think he targets the elderly or anyone who he thinks is vulnerable. I really just did want to haul off and hit him one. I couldn’t believe this man was really doing this.”

Another client, Cheryl Seymore said: “The man is evil. He has no conscious.”

Jason Sutphin said his mother Ellen was duped by the same repairman.

"My mom took out a $50,000 home equity loan to pay in cash because he wanted cash on everything,” he said.

He said his mom first contacted Harris to fix a plumbing problem but went on to charge her more for home improvement jobs she didn't need. She later suffered a fatal stroke.

"I believe that the stroke was caused by stress and the only stress she had in her life at that time was Glenn Harris," her son said.

The elderly then sought assistance from an unlikely source. An undercover reporter Lisa Guerrero connected with the plumber to get his services.

However, he failed to reach her home at the committed time and so she went to the plumber's house.

With the help of a Hollywood makeup artist, the undercover woman reporter was transformed into an elderly lady.

A walker and an unexpected visit to the plumber's house added to the surprise. The reporter removed her wig and disguise, revealing that the media had decided to report on the scenario.

Once again, the customer's allegations were not established in court. 

This wild story, however, teaches us the lesson of how an average person can help others in need and can protect them from fraudsters who take advantage of vulnerable people out there.
