Everyone does it. We use a public restroom and the first thing we do if we need to go #2, is wrap that seat with toilet paper.

Turns out if you do this, you need to stop doing it asap!

The toilet seats it turns out are designed not to pick up bacteria. The surface, smooth and curved, prevent bacteria from hanging around.

Turns out the real germs actually come from the toilet paper!

The toilet seat is the only thing that is designed to prevent bacteria from sticking to it. Everything else is bacteria prone.

Walls, handles, the toilet paper dispenser and the toilet paper which is perfect for collecting bacteria as germs can settle right on in. Blowing our noses, wiping are faces and our rear ends are all natural for us to do. But it turns out this serves as a gateway for bacteria to get into our bodies.

Public restrooms are filthy with bacteria. Even the sink and hand dryers. Actually the hand dryers are major culprits for spreading bacteria around in a restroom according to the Journal of Applied Microbiology.

#4

It's the airflow which blows the bacteria all over the place, circulating it all over the restroom. It will blow the pools of bacteria-infested water dripping off your hands. Paper towels are actually better for everyone's health despite the cost and paper waste.

Apparently many are saying that when using a public restroom, it's better not to create a toilet paper barrier on the seat. Though seeing as the seat always contains urine on it from those bathroom stall standers who don't lift the seat up, you would think a thorough wipe down would be in order.

Actually, that's where hand sanitizers or baby wipes come into play. Use these to avoid catching any of that nasty bacteria, wherever it may be, in the public restroom.
