Anytime you leave your home, you are bound to run into all kinds of characters especially at the mall. Now, I am not talking about those strange store mascots who stand outside their storefronts trying to lure you in. I am talking about the oddballs who seem to crawl out of the woodwork that are bound and determined to make your shopping experience miserable.

Most of us have been a witness to or involved in an altercation at the supermarket. From physically fighting over Black Friday deals or arguing over who was first in line at the checkout, some people's animal instincts just seem to kick in every time they go shopping.

An example of the kind of crazy that you might find when you head out for a fun shopping trip is the story of 22-year-old Jasmine Xiong. She and her mother were victims of an unprovoked racist attack while shopping at their local Walmart. I mean, it is Walmart, what do you expect?

Jasmine is from Appleton Wisconsin and was truly perplexed by the verbal confrontation, so much so that she grabbed her phone to record the situation. If it were not for the video, we may not have believed that it truly happened. After all, it is 2017.
The incident began when a truly ignorant woman walked up to Jasmine and her mother who were speaking in their native language of Hmong. The strange woman seemed to be really irritated by the unfamiliar language. She was so offended that she confronted the pair and demanded that, "If you live here in America, speak the language." Everything after her initial demand was caught on camera.

The woman can be seen swaying from side to side as she attempts to explain how everyone should speak the language of the country that they live in. She is clearly ignoring the fact that Jasmine and her mother hold a perfectly clear conversation with the nutcase in perfect English.

While trying to justify her racism, the possibly drunk woman says that when she travels to Mexico, she speaks Spanish. So, Jasmine asks her for proof that she can speak Spanish, and the deranged woman counts to ten in Spanish...a feat that can be accomplished by most Americans.

The video went viral after Jasmine shared it with her friends. Most people could not understand the point that the woman was trying to make. It seemed that the woman could not even validate her own argument. The one thing we do know is that the people who have seen this video have been united in their support of Jasmine and her mother and have congratulated them on how they handled the obviously awkward situation.
