For all those getting upset over a news article trending in several websites that astrology charts have changed, RELAX!!! It’s all a hoax. Your zodiac has not changed. The biggest reason put forward by such false reporting is the dead give away that NASA said so!! Since when has NASA started involving itself with astrology? NASA issued a very blunt statement to this effect via its Spokesman Dwayne Brown “NASA studies Astronomy not Astrology. All those worrying out there should realize that NASA is a space agency spending millions of dollars on astronomy and space research. They are definitely not going to spend that money playing Harry Potter.
Talk about the classic case of catching the bull by the tail this fiasco ended up with many websites catching the bull by something else instead. They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing and thus NASA’s new astronomical charts have been misinterpreted to causing a ruckus that peoples Astrology charts have changed. What’s worse is the introduction of a 13th sign called Ophiuchus which is absurd. This is how the so called theorists have been debunked.
#1 Astrology dates back 3000 years with an established system of Zodiac
Astrology is an age old science conceived and dating back 3000 years ago to the ancient Chaldeans and Babylonians. Astrologers of that era were privy to the same star formations as you see today. Ptolemy in the 2nd century established the tropical zodiac with its starting point originating from the line of the sun which commences from the Vernal Equinox which is Aries. As a result this had no bearing on the earth's shift in axis which was described by NASA. As a result of Ptolemy's calculations, this shift had no bearing on the tropical zodiac. He also used names for signs that were similar to constellations. So now do you understand what the hoo haa is all about?
#2 A little knowledge is a dangerous thing
The news that spread like wildfire was that NASA had updated astrological signs for the first time in history. NASA doesn't not concern itself with astrology. In fact such rumors were the result of a gross misinterpretation of NASA facts in its children's section explaining how constellations could have shifted due to the shifting of the earth's axis. It was a reputed magazine like Cosmopolitan who misinterpreted NASA's explanation on astronomy as an interpretation of astrology. This led to several websites following suit. Know the difference
Journalists playing astrologers don't seem to know the difference between constellations of the zodiac and signs of the zodiac. Indian astrology retained the sidereal zodiac based on stars but with the same signs. Both western and Indian astrology have remained consistent and accurate for almost 2000 years. Why would they suddenly choose to be different? And imagine the stupid scenario if you were till now a Virgo, suddenly being told you are an Aries, if astrology bearing on personality is true, would you now be required to change your personality? This is what NASA said!!
#3 Western astrology is consistent based upon time
A more logical explanation based on western astrology says that western astrology is based upon the motion of planets NOT STARS. It is the planets that were regarded as stars by ancient astrologers. Moreover according to Astrology, ancient Babylonians may have used stars for measurement but they always used zones which used the starting point of the sun where it was positioned at the March equinox. This then has no bearing on NASA's depiction of stars shifting their locations due to the shift on the earth's axis because astrology calculations don't include a fixed point. It uses a point as determined by the equinox which could be at a location at a different time every year.
This is how festivals such as Easter is calculated which is why Easter never has a fixed date in April or March, It is calculated based upon the spring of the vernal equinox. The March equinox may commence at a different time in March or early April but it always starts from the sign of Aries. Hence your zodiac sign cannot be changed.

What people don't realize is that astrology has now become to be defined by time and not positions of outer space.
