Salma Hayek Went Commando For Lap Dance In Movie As Co-Star Almost ‘Saw Everything’

Salma Hayek shared an amusing, yet slightly embarrassing, incident from the set of Magic Mike 3. 

During a lap dance scene, her co-star Channing Tatum nearly saw more than intended as he inadvertently began to pull down her pants. 

Salma couldn't recall at that moment whether she was wearing underwear.

The Hollywood actress recounted being left "so sore" after filming the steamy scene, but it wasn't just the physical exertion. 

She faced a potential wardrobe mishap. 

While rehearsing, she found herself "upside down" and disoriented, leading to a near accident.

She told talk show host Jimmy Kimmel:

"My legs had to be somewhere, but upside down one loses sense of direction, and I didn’t do what I was supposed to do. 

"So I, in the rehearsal, I went, like, head down, almost hit my head... he held on to my pants. 

"I was really concerned because my pants — he was pulling, my pants were going away and I couldn’t remember if I had underwear [on] or not, in this moment. 

"So instead of putting my hands to protect my head, I just held on to the pants."

Despite Channing Tatum's instructions to "Put your hands up! Hold onto my legs!" Salma was preoccupied with holding onto her pants. 

Eventually, the crew had to intervene. She humorously recalled telling Channing:

"What’s wrong with me? You nearly killed me!" when he questioned her reaction.

Talking to People magazine, Salma admitted the choreography was a challenge, especially since she doesn't regularly exercise.

She explained: "Most of the work goes into making it look effortless. After the first rehearsal I was sore because I'm not in shape and it's not movement you're used to.

"So I was sore. It was technical: You've got to make sure you don't poke his eye with a stiletto or knock him out or he doesn't drop me.

"He kept telling me he was 'very strong, don't worry,' but still you've got to hold on a little bit with the arms or the legs."

Additionally, there was a scene that didn't make it into the final cut.

Salma mentioned an instance where Channing "almost dropped" her, catching her head just before it hit the ground.

Salma, who has portrayed strippers in previous films, enjoyed the role reversal of receiving a lap dance from Channing Tatum.

When asked if her husband, François-Henri Pinault, felt jealous of the intimate scenes, Salma playfully remarked:

"He gets the same and even better but without the clothes so I don't think he is going to complain!"

Behind the scenes, Salma shared a glimpse of her daily routine during filming, the star admitted:

"You know what was my day going into the office? I would just sit around and watch, like, 12 men, semi-naked dancing and doing pirouettes. And I got to boss them around."
