Selfie Tragedy: A Young Woman Fell To Her Death Taking A Selfie
Toni Kelly, who is described as 'happy and beautiful', died in London on life support after suffering a serious brain injury.
According to Daily Mail Australia, her friends believe she had been trying to take a photograph of herself near the window at the time.
She was supposedly in the UK as a part of a teaching programme, her family now raising funds to bring her body home after the tragic accident.
More than $33,400 had been raised by Wednesday morning. Toni’s family have also donated her organs to “help save other lives in the UK”.
The page titled 'Bring our Toni home,' reads:
"Unfortunately Toni has sadly passed away due to her injuries. In her death, Toni’s organs have been donated to help save other lives in the UK."
Paige Hourigan told Daily Mail Australia:
The girl who was always smiling was the most fun to be around. When we were young Toni was one of those people that never had anything bad to say about anyone, she was super girly, laid back and fun which I loved.
I remember just laughing and giggling with her all the time about nothing.
She was a beautiful girl that will definitely always be remembered especially for that smile.
A friend wrote on Facebook:
This is the most emotionally draining and distressing time for any family to go through.
Her sister Stacey Kelly thanked girls on Facebook who had set up the page to bring her cherished family member home.
"I just wanna say thank you from the bottom of my heart for the endless support so far."
