Senior Detective Who Used Police Helicopter For Joy Ride With Wife And Made TikTok Video Onboard 'Demoted' By Authorities

People do silly things but this officer reached a whole another level when he took his wife for a 'joy ride' in the helicopter and then bragged about it on the internet. ‘I swear most ppl can get away with a lot of things it’s just that they are dumb enough to post it and they get caught.’
The officer, Akkarapol Yeekoh, was demoted. We believe people often end up doing silly things but being a senior police officer and then going for a ride on the police helicopter is another level of stupidity.
Things took a wrong turn after the detective at Udon Thani police station posted the video online.
When the video reached the authorities, they were not so happy with the officer using the department’s property for his personal ride.
Saksith Saiyasombut, Channel News Asia‘s Thailand correspondent, tweeted:
‘A senior Udon Thani police officer is subject of an internal inquiry after a TikTok post by what appears to be his wife on a joy ride in a police helicopter together. The clip was pulled almost right away, but not before it was copied and widely shared.’
The video was removed by the original sharer a few minutes after it was posted online. It was very difficult for the police to track the original sharer.
The widely shared video shows the couple having the time of their life in the helicopter ride dancing to the tune of LeAnn Rimes’ How Do I Live. The couple also shared pictures of them posing outside the aircraft, and onboard.
Saksith Saiyasombut further said:
‘Local media report that according to a spokesman by the national Royal Thai Police the helicopter ride depicted in the TikTok video was on Sep 28, 2019 (hence probably the lack of masks) and that the woman was the senior officer’s wife. Whether she’s still his wife is not known.’
According to the reports of Coconuts Bangkok, Commander Maj. Gen. Pitsanu Unhaseri ordered Akkarapol to be demoted and shifted to an inactive post, considered the standard punishment for ‘official malfeasance.’
The committee has also been set up for further investigation by the police hoping it will ‘protect the organization’s image.’
On the other hand, viewers questioned why the couple even posted their videos online.
One person wrote;
‘The wife is stupid to brag but even more stupid for the husband to arrange this and appear in the video.’
‘I swear most ppl can get away with a lot of things it’s just that they are dumb enough to post it and they get caught.’
Another user wrote;
‘Can’t believe I’ve never thought to use my wife’s police helicopter for content.’
‘This is why a minimum of a 3 digit IQ should be required to advance beyond directing traffic.’
