Woman's had it with her sons' misbehavior and cancels trip 24 hours in with screaming children in the back. Her husband's furious with the decision.
With how much everyone looks forward to going on vacation, if one ends abruptly, there's always an important reason. This mom felt like she had one when she decided to return home within 24 hours of being at their destination.
She started off by saying that she has three children with her husband who have had a history of misbehaving. The parents had talks with the children, making it clear that they aren't to behave the same way once on vacation.
She even tried to prevent the vacation from happening once she observed no improvement in their actions. Her husband however was not having it.
Problems started with the car ride. The boys kept fighting and the husband reassured her that they would cool down once they got to their destination.
The boys it seems took that as a personal challenge.
They threw items around, messed up furniture, and created a ruckus at the restaurant.
Things worsened once they got to the beach.
Once the day ended, she decided it was enough and that the family needed to go home. It was time her children saw the consequences of their actions.
When her husband insisted she decided that she would leave on her own if they didn't join her. The husband tried to reason that returning would be unfair to their daughter.
She said she agreed but things had gotten too far. When the children were told they started promising they'd behave better but OP's mind was made.
Her mother who was also on the trip tried to change her mind but OP packed up the car and left along with the family.
The drive back was difficult, to say the least.
Her mother who decided to stack couldn't believe OP had actually left and blamed her for ruining everyone's fun.
Another day later, OP was questioning whether she was in the wrong.
Some commenters made a snap decision for their own futures upon reading this.
Some also suggested OP take her daughter out for a special day to make it up to her since she did nothing wrong. When it came to the boys, however, they felt she acted appropriately.
Others even called out the husband for not having OP's back.
Some also pointed out that behavior such as this isn't isolated and had probably been tolerated before. they questioned OP's methods before this day.
Some even speculated that the father probably found it easier to handle the tantrums since the bulk of the child-managing responsibility probably fell on the mother.
