#1 Running for the bigger cause

A teaching assistant just completed his marathon in as many days as he collected money for Chester zoo. Apparently marathon isn't the only thing 41-year old Brendan Rendall has been doing as this is all off the back of a half marathon a day during June.

Brendan, from Salford Quays in Manchester, would sometimes start his marathon running at 4am, completing 18 miles before starting work. He would then finish the rest of the mileage afterward.

#2 "I was inspired to do my bit"

For the finale, Brendan plans to complete a run from Salford Quays all the way to Chester Zoo. He will be running the 35 miles in fancy dress and plans to do this on 3 August.

In his interview with Ladbible, Brendan, who works with children with special educational needs, said: "During lockdown I wanted to do a challenge. After seeing the Chester Zoo appeal, I was inspired to do my bit.

#3 Brendan has also completed running challenges before

"Having completed running challenges before I came up with the idea to run half a marathon everyday in June, followed by running the marathon distance in July and to complete the challenge a final 35 mile run from Media City to Chester Zoo.

"I came up with the idea to run in animal costumes to make me smile, laugh - I felt that was important with the year we are having. It's also a great way to raise money."

#4 "I hope it inspires people along the way"

The teacher continued: "I enjoy completing running challenges and pushing my mind and body out of its comfort zone. I hope it inspires people along the way - that with the right passion and determination anyone can complete these challenges.

"I have visited Chester Zoo many times over the years with the children and adults that I've supported - seeing their faces and reactions from seeing the animals is so special.

"I didn't get any injuries and I never felt like giving up - dig deep and keep going. Raising money for Chester Zoo and inspiring people is the biggest motivator not to give up."
