THE weather’s heating up which means it’s time to start flashy a bit more flesh.

Unfortunately that skin will probably be pasty white thanks to months spent wrapped in winter woollies.
While some can rock the pale and interesting look, others don't feel themselves unless they have a bit of colour on their arms and legs.
There's no need to start baking your skin under the sun though, these days fake tan looks just as good sometimes.
To show you what you shouldn't be aiming for we've rounded up some of the biggest fake tan fails going.
Mismatched hands and stripy shins are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this little lot.

There are some easy ways to ensure you don't go full-on oompa loompa when you hit the tan bottle.
It's boring but the biggest thing is to accept there are no short cuts, so skip a step and you'll be bemoaning your orange limbs quicker than you can say âyou've been tangoed'.
Firstly, get a decent body scrub and slough away all your dead skin before you get going.
Give rough areas a particular going over as well as any bits which have harder skin, like your elbows and heels.

Don't slick on too much body lotion before you start tanning, it can interfere with the colour.
Do put a thin layer of Vaseline around your hair line and eyebrows though, as it'll stop the tan sticking and going orange.
Apply several light and thin layers, rather than one huge one. They will dry quicker and you'll get a more even result.
Those dry skin areas (elbows and knees) need a lighter touch than the rest of you, and make sure you wash your hands carefully once you're finished.
