Sofia Marroquin went viral on social media as a 'square head' after a cosmetic procedure went wrong that left her face looking completely rectangular. Sofia regularly updated her journey towards recovery after the procedure Kybella treatment went wrong in which she wanted to get her excess double chin removed. In a follow-up video, talking about her decision to get the treatment, Sofia said, "If you want to get something done, that's up to you, that's not up to anyone else. Personally, the only reason I got it done wasn't to be fake or to look prettier or anything like that. It was because I was genuinely insecure about it and I was literally always hiding my face with my hair.

"And when I went to go have my consultation, the nurse thoroughly assessed me to see if I'm right for the procedure and she could have easily turned me away if I didn't have any fat there."

A few months back, 19-year old tik toker Sofia Marroquin went viral on social media platforms when she was left with a "square head" following a cosmetic procedure.

Back in June, Marroquin, from Gold Coast, Australia, underwent a treatment known as a Kybella treatment. This involves nonsurgical injections that are used to reduce excess fat under a person's chin.

But things went horribly wrong and after receiving the non-invasive treatment, Sofia was left with excessive swelling and bruising that resulted in her face having right angles.

In her original video, Sofia says: "Yep, so just got some lovely needles into my face. My family has absolutely no idea what I've just done and I'm about to get their reaction."

Even though the procedure was completely legal and it was Sofia's own personal choice but still it didn't stop people from posting mean comments on the video. her comments sections were flooded with people asking her if she had "body dysmorphia", saying she looked like "SpongeBob Squarepants", and claiming that the procedure had been "botched". To counter her critics, Sofia frequently posted updates of her recovery and included as much information as she could surrounding the treatment.

In a follow-up post, Sofia also explains to her viewers what happened that her face turned into square shape, "Lots of people have been asking why I made my face look like a rectangle. I didn't purposefully make my face look like a rectangle.

"I got a treatment done called Kybella which removes fat from the lower part of your face. People tend to get it for your double chin but I got it in my jowls area.

"Mine was really fatty covering up my jaw so I just wanted to remove that fat - just a little bit - just to make it look a little better. That's all."

In another video, she adds, that what she did was a personal choice and there is no 'wrong or right here.'

"If you want to get something done, that's up to you, that's not up to anyone else.

Sofia concluded by saying: "So the only reason I did it was for myself."
