The Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wylde

We know that this book is a literary classic, but it truly had its downside. There is one part of the book that literally listed every single thing that Dorian Gray ever collected. That part made this book one of the most annoying books to read.

The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald

Gatsby was a rich, annoying jerk, and that was pretty much the whole point of the book. It is like the literary equivalent of watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Romeo and Juliet - William Shakespeare

Let's be honest. This was just a story of two selfish brats who wanted to have sex so badly that they got married in secret and ruined their families in the process. It was not one of Bard's finest plays, and quite frankly, we should have been taught Hamlet or Othello instead.

Fifth Business - Robertson Davies

Thank goodness I did not have to read this one when I was in school. One person described it as a story about a hairy baby and some person joining a circus. That alone makes me not want to ever pick it up.

Brave New World - Aldous Huxley

One of Huxley's critics at the time said that the book read like he was writing an essay about the future and decided to give it a plot, and that's exactly how I feel about this book. Read 1984 instead if you want good dystopian fiction.

Heart of Darkness - Joseph Conrad

This book was a bit scandalous with its take on Colonialism. People were not happy with the book's portrayal of Africa or the things it said about it.

Life of Pi - Yann Martel

In this book, a kid visits the zoo then some strange island. There is a tiger that seems to just be along for the trip. And, that is about it. We just saved you hours of your life, so you don't have to read it now.

On The Road - Jack Kerouac

I do not think I have met a single person who has enjoyed this book. With the exception of someone who is a pretentious douchebag that thinks they are better than everyone around them, there is no real audience for this novel.

Death of a Salesman - Arthur Miller

This book focuses, literally, on the least interesting person in the story. Who knows why we had to spend hours reading this when we could have been doing something that was a lot more fun. It is truly a boring read.

Watership Down - Richard Adams

Just because a book is considered a classic, that does not mean that it is actually good. Who really wants to read a book about cute little woodland creatures who torture and maim each other. Just be glad we are not talking about the movie in this article. You really don't want to get me started.
