Ten Things You Use To Stay Clean That Are Probably Extremely Dirty
#1
There's nothing like waking up and getting to a fresh start to your day with a hot shower, cocoa butter soaked loofah and a refreshing face wash to make you feel like a new person. You turn off the shower and step onto the bath mat to give your teeth a thorough cleaning. You pop your contacts out of their case, put them in, and grab some freshly washed and dried clothes.
Sounds pretty refreshing, or does it?
Unfortunately, that whole process may just have been littered in germs. That's right, the whole thing! Be careful, because the very things you are using to clean yourself with could be spreading germs and could possibly get you sick.
These 10 things may be dirtier than you thought, but luckily, all of them can be easily cleaned or affordably replaced.
1. Face Brushes
Those fancy brushes that you use to clean away dead skin cells may be harboring and growing mildew when you leave them in your shower. Make sure you're giving your scrubber a good scrub of its own before you use it on your face!
To wash facebrush, simply wet it thoroughly with water and rub it gently onto a bar of antibacterial soap. Then rinse it with warm water and wash it more time with a gentle shampoo Johnson's Baby Shampoo works well.

That junk that accumulates on your bar of soap probably may be filled with germs. Simply rinse the stuff away before you begin to lather up. If you're a healthy person, then your body will be able to fight off this bacteria without problem anyway. If you are a germ phobe and it freaks you out, liquid soap may be more of your thing.
#3
If you aren't covering your toilet lid every single time you flush, then you can be sure that all sorts of microscopic germs are being catapulted into the air and onto everything in your bathroom, including your toothbrushes.
There is also the possibility of little creepy crawlies having a party with your toothbrush while you're sleeping, so it's important to disinfect and replace it often. Or you can invest in some toothbrush holders.
#4
Loofahs are easily one of the germier things in your routine that you clean with. They can quickly become completely covered in dead skin cells, germs and mold within a week's use. You should be replacing loofahs out very frequently.
#5
If you are neglecting giving your washing machine a good cleaning on a regular basis, then your clothes aren't really getting much cleaner either.
In reality, they are actually soaking in the germs that are leftover in your basin and underneath that rubber seal on your front-loading washer. The cleaning method will be different depending on what kind of washer you have, though it's important to consider this anyway.
#6
Showerheads often contain lots of built-up bacteria, including one called M.avium, which can cause lung cancer. The good news is that it's very easy to clean. Simply soak your showerhead in white vinegar to get a free flowing, clean showerhead.
#7
Toilet paper.
Much like your toothbrush, your toilet paper could get covered in the germ spray that comes from your toilet when you flush it. Again, keep that lid down!
#8
The washcloth that you use every single night to wash your face may be covered in mildew and bacteria. You have to remember to wash it at least once a week, otherwise you'll basically cover your face up with dirt, old makeup and bacteria.
#9
Contact Cases with cleaning solution are being misused by 99% of people 99% of the time. Cleaning solution should be dumped out and replaced every single time you put your contacts in there instead of just topped off.
Like any standing liquid, bacteria and grime can build up. You should also be replacing your contact case at least every three months to prevent infections. Your contacts are basically an extension of your eyes, so you need to be very careful about cleaning the thing you're putting into your body!

Most Face-Wash Pumps have a lid that clasps over the pump. This may be a perfect breeding ground for mold as it's an enclosed, moist, and warm space. To prevent, keep the lid off of the dispenser and make sure you air out the bathroom after a hot shower.
Did you have any idea that germs, grime and bacteria are hiding in plain sight like this? Please share this with your family and friends!
