Tennesse Woman Who Sold Car to 13-Year-Old Boy Charged with Homicide After Fatal Crash

37-year old homeless Tennesse woman is held on a $6,000 bond for her recklessness and for allegedly contributing to delinquent behavior of an underage child after she sold her car to the child which led to a fatal car accident that resulted in the death of a 71-year old man.

Tennessee woman, 37, has been charged by the police with vehicular homicide for contributing to delinquent behavior of underage and recklessly selling her car to a 13-year old child who then crashed the car leading to the death of a 71-year old man. 

According to the investigators from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the March 5 collision along Nolensville Pike in Nashville was allegedly caused by a 13-year-old driver who bought Katrina Russell's, Dodge Dart.

The 70-year old man who died in the fatal crash has been identified as David Cheatham. 

As per the police report, the minor lost control of the car after running a red light. The car then crashed into Cheatham's Dodge Challenger.

Police say that the victim was found dead at the scene. 

The charges against the woman come from her alleged "admission that there was an exchange of money between her and the teen for the keys to her car," reads the statement. "The teen told investigators that he bought the car for $80."

Russell, who is a homeless woman, was arrested Wednesday. She remains in custody on a $6,000 bond and is yet to enter pleas to the charges.

As per the statement: "The 13-year-old driver involved in the fatal crash is charged in Juvenile Court with vehicular homicide by recklessness, driving without a license, and no proof of insurance." 

Police have not yet revealed the teenager's name because of his age.
