This restaurant owner is helping his local community in not just words but through his actions too and with his money he has come up with a plan to help sustain local restaurants to get through the tough times of pandemic crisis together.

Owner of the Tex-Mex eatery El Mezcal, Adolfo Melendez experienced the tough times pandemic brought upon the restaurant industry. 

It is an open secret that the restaurant business has been specifically hit hard by the pandemic and restaurants are going through a real crisis.

However, during these times of crisis, the world shows its real face and it is people like Adolfo who show what it means to be a hero in real life. 

Adolfo strongly believes in strong busnieeses. This is because he knows that strong business is not just business but they are the dreams, visions, and efforts of those people who put their heart and soul in it.

Pandemic has been really hard on business owners and Adolfo decided that it is time he extends a lending hand to fellow business owners.

To help save restaurant cutbacks and closures in his local community, Adolfo purchased more than $2,000 in gift cards to other neighborhood eateries.

Moving forward, Adolfo has been gifting these gift cards to his customers through El Mezcal‘s Facebook page.

Many of Adolfo's competitors are grateful for his generous help and expressed how lucky they are to receive his support. 

Olympia Family Restaurant owner Pete Ananiadis appreciated Adolfo’s noble gesture. He claimed:

“In these COVID times, it’s very important to eat local, small mom and pop shops. Adolfo understands that.”
