#2 The couple was in for a big surprise

Jenny came to know about her pregnancy in November 2019 through an ultrasound. The young mom was worried that something was wrong with her pregnancy but the technician soon confirmed her that there was nothing wrong with her pregnancy except that she is carrying three babies.

They hadn't used any fertility drugs, and neither Jenny nor Chris even has a sibling, let alone a family history of multiple births. "We were just absolutely floored," Jenny told Today.

#3 Specialist confirmed that Jenny will give birth to four healthy babies

Not able to believe their technician's words, the couple took an appointment with a maternal-fetal specialist, and the specialist confirmed that Jenny is going to give birth to not only three but four babies.

"I made the joke that I am not coming back because there are going to be five babies next time," Chris recalled. "We were just shocked. Jumping from three to four was easier to swallow. Just after that we heard they were healthy."

#4 The chances of spontaneous identical quadruplets are minimum

Stats suggest that the chances of having spontaneous identical quadruplets is anywhere between 1 in 11 million and 1 in 15 million births.

"It’s unbelievable. It’ll never happen again in my career. I said, 'Girl, go buy a few lottery tickets because those are the kind of odds we’re dealing with,'" OB-GYN Dr. Lauren Murray told Today.

#5 The ride through their pregnancy was definitely not an easy one

There were two or more hurdles they had to bear with during this unique pregnancy and initially, the couple was aware with only one. The four fetuses were all sharing one placenta which means they didn't have their own source of nutrients. This created the risk of the underdevelopment of one or more babies.

However, the fetuses shared well in the womb and developed well until the 28-week mark. Jenny went into labor on March 15, right as the COVID-19 pandemic was starting to rock the nation.

#6 Adjusting to the sudden expanded family life

Jenny gave birth to four healthy boys via C-section and her babies came into the world within a matter of few minutes. Three of them needed oxygen, however, and all four stayed in the NICU for about 10 weeks. However, they're all healthy and home now, and the Marrs are starting to adjust to their new, suddenly expanded life.

#7 Feeding time has now become a witching hour

"I thought it was going to be a little bit crazier but it’s been pretty good so far," Jenny told Fox 4. "Feeding times are every three hours and I call them the witching hour. These guys start screaming. They want to be changed and then they want to be fed and then they want to go back to sleep. And so we live our life in three hour blocks at a time right now."

#8 Zeke is adjusting to the arrival of new bundle of joys in their family

The family dog Zeke is also adjusting well to the arrival of new family members.

The couple also told an inside joke when they admitted that at times even they get confused with their sons and are often not able to tell them apart.

"They’re identical," she said. "I thought I had one baby and Chris was like, ‘No, that’s Harrison.’ Or that’s Henry. I don’t even really remember. And so they each have a little hemangioma. It’s like a little blood vessel birthmark. It’s temporary and so we hope it lasts until they can remember their names for us."

#9 Jenny shared her experience of giving birth during the global pandemic

Giving birth to quadruplets during a global pandemic wasn't an easy task, but thanks to the hospital that the journey was made less scary with their cooperation. In a tribute on Facebook, Jenny posted, "Having babies during a global pandemic has been quite the experience," she wrote on Facebook. "Everyone at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas made us and our babies too priority for care and safety. I only hope that one day I can hug each of them and say thank you. Thank you for getting our sweet preemie babies into the world safely, for believing in them that they could exceed all expectations of such preterm babies.

"We never heard bad news, we never really had to worry, we welcomed into the world 4 healthy incredible babies. And now after just under 2 months they are all home."
