Unlike Marilyn Manson, who is claimed to have had ribs removed in order to be able to perform fellatio on himself, Alves is having his ribs removed so he can fit his blazers better. He will have four of his floating ribs removed by a surgeon in Los Angeles.

It may sound extreme for someone to get several of their floating ribs removed, but Alves says that he does not have any other option. He has had liposuction 20 times and the doctors will no longer allow him to have it again because it will put his health in danger.

Alves says that his decision is not purely cosmetic. He has started his own line of blazers and hopes the operation will help his career, assuming he is the only one who will be modeling his blazers.

Originally, Alves had planned to have six ribs removed, but doctors said that would be a step too far. They compromised by agreeing to remove four of them instead. If he were to have six ribs removed, then his lungs would be exposed in his ribcage.

"I am quite boxy around the waist area," he said. "I like my fitted shirts and smart blazers and they will suit me much better when I have that classic slender figure. It’s going to make my waist tiny so I can wear elegant nice blazers." He also claims to have friends who have had the procedure done and claims that it is far from a simple procedure but could be done.

So far, Alves has had 59 cosmetic surgeries and more than 100 cosmetic procedures. He also says that his ribs will not end up as medical waste. He plans on storing them so they can be used for future cosmetic procedures. "Once they’ve been removed they’ll be sent off to a cartilage bank," he adds.

While storing cartilage for any future cosmetic procedures sounds a bit extreme, it is a common thing to do in the world of plastic surgery. Donated cartilage is oftentimes used on athletes to help repair certain sports injuries.

Even though Alves puts so much into his personal appearance, he was left a bit embarrassed after missing the memo about what to wear to the Golden Globes this year. Stars wore black to the ceremony as a mark of solidarity with those who have been sexually harassed. Alves wore white to the ceremony instead.

He wrote on Instagram, "I was the only one wearing white at the #goldenglobes then I realized later that I forget to read the dress code memo." It appears that he was just a little overexcited about being invited to this prestigious event.

Alves told Mail Online, "I truly missed the memo and it was embarrassing – most of the people were truly wearing black. I definitely stood out on the red carpet due to the fact." He did say that he was in full support of the entire movement, while also saying that he did not have to wear black in order to prove it.

For now, all we can do is wait for the update on how his rib removal surgery went. We are excited to see the photos and hope that Alves will finally be happy with his body.
