#1 The Elephant Kingdom in Chonburi, Thailand

This scene is making a lot of people uncomfortable. A series of these pictures were taken at The Elephant Kingdom in Chonburi, Thailand and have resulted in the attraction being closed down by the government.

#2 The Crocodile Farm Is Very Popular

The park, which has other attractions as well as the reptile ponds, originally had crocodiles to raise and breed for their meat and skin, and the spot has more than 4,300 crocodiles and gharials sprawling over two massive ponds. The owner of the attraction says that he began offering trips to see the reptiles after so many tourists began requesting it. The feeding began by accident and has been in practice for about three years as the raft travels to the middle of the pond three times every day.

#3 A Feeding Frenzy

It seems that tourists love to come to this farm and feed the crocodiles in a ramshackle raft holding a cage kept buoyant with plastic barrels merely inches from the 10-12ft long slayer monster reptiles. They then toss pieces of beef at them and watch them fight over the food, sometimes diving over 15 feet for a piece of red meat.

#4 The Government Is Getting Involved

After these pictures were taken by a taxi driver named Jon Nok, the government and the police have immediately taken action. The park has been shut down for 90 days while stringent security checks are executed and the park dismantles the floating cages and places safety measures near the breeding ponds. Many believe the attraction will reopen once the uproar subsides since Thailand is supported by tourists and visitors from China. However, people on social media are also reacting with shock.

#5 People Are Very Concerned

People on Twitter and social media are commenting on how cruel this practice is. People are commenting how cruel the feedings are as a video shows people taunting the beasts by lifting the meat back out of the water on a bamboo stick. Also, the police are concerned for the safety of the tourists, as the raft should not have more than 15 people on board at a time, and they appear to be rigged together improperly.

#6 A Widely Known Attraction

Apparently, the activity and the croc feeding has been widely known among the Chinese tourists for a number of years. However, few native Thai residents or the authorities were aware of the attraction. Farming of crocs is legal in Thailand and a big business, providing 65% of the reptile skin for use in products worldwide. The meat is a delicacy in Thailand as well.
