#1 "The National: A Ohio Based Rock Band"

The frontman of Ohio based alternative rock group "The National's" Matt Berninger is working on a TV show that is based on his life in the music industry. Berninger and his bandmate Aaron gave an exclusive interview to an Australia's Double J radio show, where Berninger opened up about the upcoming biopic and gave details about the upcoming show.

#2 The Show Will Depict His Experiences In The Music Industry

The singer said his show is going to be based on his experiences in the music industry. According to Berninger, the show whose name has not been decided upon yet will be inspired by director Tom's 2013 documentary about the band, "The National: Mistaken For Strangers" but Berninger also hinted that the show's format will be a comedy. Talking to Double J radio’s Zan Rowe, he said, "We’re hoping it’s a comedy. It’s something we’ve been cooking for a while."

Berninger added, "My brother made this documentary and it has a lot of the same tone. But this is more scripted than that and it’s not a film Tom’s making, Tom is just a subject of it. It’s not a fake documentary."

#4 Berninger Brothers Will Be Seen Playing The Lead Roles

The Berninger brothers will be staring in the show as lead characters while the band members will be cast. Reportedly, Aaron Dessner helped cast the band, using real-life musicians who worked with the Dessner brothers on the 2016 Grateful Dead tribute compilation, Day of the Dead. Fans will remember that album for its string of A-list guest performers which included The War on Drugs, Cortney Barnett, Wilco, Mumford & Sons, The Flaming Lips and more, which might be a hint that practically anybody could cameo on the upcoming show.

Speaking of his role, Dessner revealed that he will be doing the role of a producer, "I don’t have a speaking part." Quickly adding to his statement, "Well, I might." Berninger has confirmed that the show is yet to undergo production and won't be coming any time near 2018, "It won’t see the light of day this year. So, that’s how far along it is."
