YouTube has had a consistent rise in popularity since the site first launched. Now, that you can make money off of your YouTube videos, everybody is trying to become internet famous. From playing pranks on their friends or joining in on video challenges, there is no shortness of stupidity on that site. Here are a few cringe-worthy challenges all done in the name of possible internet fame.

Fire Challenge
This challenge is not only incredibly stupid, it is extremely dangerous. Kids were trying to get famous on YouTube by dousing themselves with lighter fluid and setting themselves on fire. Many of them did this while near a shower thinking they would be safe. Idiots.
Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge
They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but even Kylie Jenner did not want girls doing this to themselves. The girl in this video admitted to crying after filming because she was in so much pain. Also, her lips were left bruised for a week after.

The Cinnamon Challenge
It is bad enough that kids are doing these stupid challenges. That is not to say that there are not some really stupid adults out there too. We cannot even feel bad for this woman. She should have been smarter than this.
Rubberband Challenge
It is not just the nobodies who want to be famous doing stupid challenges. Even some of YouTube's highest-paid vloggers are doing them too. While PewDiePie added his own little twist to this challenge, it did not make him any smarter for doing it.

Condom Challenge
With more than ten million subscribers, you would think The Slo Mo Guys would be a little smarter than this. While it is not totally unsafe, it could be if the person performing it is not properly supervised. I wonder how they would feel if some kid accidentally asphyxiated themselves doing this after watching them.

The Ghost Pepper Challenge
If these girls were trying to become famous by doing something really stupid, they have succeeded. They have amassed more than one million fans, and this video has been watched over 14 million times. We have to warn you, this is hard to watch. You will get stuck between laughing at their stupidity and wanting to cry for these girls and the pain they are in.

Gallon Milk Challenge
The purpose of this challenge is to chug a gallon of milk without puking. The trick is that it is physically impossible. So, for a time, our YouTube feeds were filled with puking teens and adults alike who miserably failed at this impossible challenge.

Salt and Ice Challenge
This dangerous challenge has been causing serious burns on children all around the world. Basic science tells you that putting salt and ice together is pretty close to making dry ice which will burn your skin. Duh!

100 Layers Challenge
While this is not a dangerous challenge, it sure is stupid. Ever since Christine from SimplyNailLogical created "Polish Mountain" (100 Layers of nail polish), Beauty Vloggers from everywhere were trying to mimic her or create their own 100 layer challenges like this one doing 100 layers of lipstick. Gross!

Tide Pod Challenge
We saved the very worst of all the challenges for last. I do not know what kid decided to start this trend, but his parents need to be tarred and feathered for not teaching him or her any better. This is extremely dangerous and kids all over the world have been hospitalized over this. Do NOT do this challenge. Detergent is poisonous, and you should already know this.
