Can you imagine this? 450 grams is 0.99 pounds. No one would believe that any baby could survive being born that small. However, this man was not giving up on the little one. It seems that his faith helped her defeat the odds.

It takes some very strong-willed medical staff to continue to perform life-saving measures for that amount of time. Somewhere deep inside, they must have known that he had some more life in him. Thank goodness they did not give up.

It was a scary time when AIDS started to spread. We were still at a time where we did not know much about the virus and how it was transmitted. People were scared. Thankfully, this woman found it in her heart to bring comfort to this young man who was probably terrified since he was so alone.

Tummy Pain

Miscarriages are devastating, not just for the woman but for her whole family. This woman had really been put through hell with having so many miscarriages in the past. It must have been an amazing feeling seeing her find out that she was at the 12-week mark with her expectant twins.

Drug Addict

It is such a shame seeing a mother of a young child as a drug addict who is dying. You really feel horrible for the child, but this nurse took it upon herself to become something like a caretaker for her while the mother was dying. They built a bond that will last a lifetime.

Getting Close

They really train medical staff to not get too close to the patients. They need to remain impartial at all times. For nurses, that is not easy as they spend the most time with the patients. This pair seemed to get really close. It was really sweet that she ended up giving the eulogy at her funeral.

Cancer

It is very hard to let someone you love deeply go. This husband was just not having it. Thankfully, the medical staff listened to his pleas. It ended up saving her life.

Letting Go

Seeing an elderly couple that has been married for a lifetime is a blessing. It gives you hope. But, watching one having to let go of the other like this pair is both morbidly beautiful and heartbreaking. It seems like he was holding on for his wife, but she knew it was time to let him go.
