Death is something that we all have to face eventually. That being said, not all ways of leaving this life are created equally. Some ways are just plain worse than others. In this list, we will be looking at 5 of the worst possible ways to die.
#1 Diving into the Mariana Trench
Deep in the Pacific Ocean lies the Mariana Trench. It is the deepest known part of any ocean on earth. In order to reach it, you would need a submarine capable of withstanding massive amounts of pressure. If you were foolish enough to go for a swim after you reached these depths you would be in for a horrible death. First, the air inside of you would implode so you would no longer be able to float. You would still retain your shape for the most part albeit distorted and finally while you are no longer able to float you'll but stuck at the bottom where you can wait for your air to run out or be consumed by one of the many deadly creatures down there alone in the dark. What a way to go.
#2 Falling to your death in an elevator.
Everyone who has ever stepped foot in an elevator has at least thought about what would happen if it fell from the top floor with you in it. Well here is what would happen. As the elevator picks up speed your body will also begin to pick up speed. Once the elevator reaches the ground if that impact doesn't kill you the impact of your internal organs slamming against your innards will. You see, your organs will keep moving even though the elevator has stopped. That means you will suffer two separate violent impacts. A horrible way to go indeed.
#3 Jumping through the middle of the Earth.
Enter the realm of science fiction for a moment. Say there is a hole that has been dug from one end of the Earth to the other. Depending on its location will determine just how you will meet your end if you jump into it. If the hole is made from one pole to the other you would cook to death as you got closer to the planet's core which is hotter than the surface temperatures on the sun. If the cooking didn't kill you-you would eventually stop falling since the density and pressure of air begins to double for every 3 miles that you fall. After falling about 30 miles you will start to float with no way of getting out. I guess Pennywise was right "We all float down here."
If the hole was dug anywhere other than the poles you would die by smashing into the walls since the various layers of the Earth move at drastically different speeds.
#4 Starving to death.
Starvation is truly a horrible way to die. It's a very slow process. First, your body will devour it's fat before moving on to the muscles. Once out of those options things get even worse. Your immune system will begin to fail on you because of the lack of nutrients your body needs. Then the fatigue sets in since you now lack electrolytes. Before long your body will begin to cannibalize your heart leading to cardiac arrest. So if you don't die from a disease or infection, you will die from your body slowly consuming itself. A horrible way to perish.
#5 Being burned to death.
Throughout history, humans have come up with some truly horrible twists on burning people to death but one thing remains the same, it's one of the worst ways to die. There is only one silver lining to most deaths by fire. They die from carbon monoxide poisoning long before they actually burn to the point that they would die. This sounds merciful but the reason most people die in fires is that they are asleep when it happens so they die of inhalation before the fire gets to them. If you actually happen to be on fire it's much worse.
You know how bad it hurts to touch something hot for just a second. It hurts like hell. Well, imagine that you can't remove your hand. You will feel it as every one of your pain receptors burns away while your flesh cooks. Once the top layer of skin is gone the deep tissue starts burning. You can literally smell yourself cooking at this point. You will eventually die from blood loss as your blood boils away and your heart stops. Lucky you.
