2017 was a weird year in more ways than one. From the beginning of the Trump era to the ongoing Hollywood sex scandal, you never know what will make headlines next. The fashion industry has been just as weird. Take a look at some of the most bizarre trends from this year.
These Might Be The Most Bizzare Fashion Trends Of 2017
The double front boots.
Shayne Oliver created these abnormal looking shoes. You can't tell if they are coming or going. The Two-face shoe was unveiled back in spring and people are still trying to wrap their heads around it.
The ultra low cut thong jeans.
These super sexy jeans caused quite a stir this year. Sandra Tanimura came up with these Brazillian inspired low rise jeans that absolutely turned many heads. Who needs to buy a thong when it's already built into your pants?
The see through knee mom jeans.
I have so many questions. Chief among them, Why are these called mom jeans? Do moms spend an abnormal amount of time on their knees and they want to show off how tough they are? They are pretty popular since Nordstrom carries them but I can't imagine any woman in her right mind would actually wear these.
The hairy mankini.
This swimsuit took the internet by storm causing a major viral frenzy. Beloved Shirts is the brilliant company behind this bit of marketing genius that also comes in 3 different skin colors. If you wanna go to he beach and you don't want guys staring at you for all the wrong reasons this is the swimsuit for you.
The jeans that lack a crotch.
If you feel a draft down there, it's just these jeans which lack a crotch. Y Project started selling these deconstructed pants this year and even Gigi Hadid has been caught wearing them. For pants that held up by suspenders, they are pretty damn expensive though.
The Dry Cleaner Bag Dress.
So this dress doesn't really look like a dress and if you wear it you might want to make sure that you have something on underneath it since for all intents and purposes it's just a dry cleaners bag with arm holes. It even has a dry cleaner logo on it. This is one trend that should be left on the shelf.
The male romper.
Did anybody else get tired of hearing about the male romper this year? It became a viral hit this year and inspired a ton of memes along with many annoying conversations about if men should wear them. ACED Designs created the controversial item and made a killing in the process as they sold out rapidly and spawned hundreds of knockoffs.
Detachable pants legs.
Opening Ceremony took a strange approach to jeans this year. The company created these weird pants that are a cross between jeans and shorts so you can go from pants to daisy dukes in 1.5 seconds flat.
The drumstick pants.
Are they chicken leg pants or carrot pants? No one can seem to agree. To me they look like drumsticks but what do I know. The pants are designed to make your legs look super thick at the top and thin at the bottom much like a piece of fried chicken. Please don't give KFC any ideas. You can buy these odd pants for $89 online.
Super lacey men's shorts.
Hologram City struck gold this past summer with their 'Lace Me Up Shorts' and matching shirts. Marketed for men who want to be frilly and lacey just like a woman, these lacey shorts sell out pretty quickly which is kind of surprising. Supply and demand people!
The Trumpkini
If 2017 was a thing, it would be this! Taking the hairy mankini to the extreme the Trumpkini features our beloved presidents face plastered across this swimsuit in a less than flattering way. Beloved Shirts has a thing for crazy designs it seems. You can buy this shocking swimsuit for $50.
