These Nail Catastrophes Are Totally Cringeworthy

Broken Nail

For any nail blogger, nothing is worse than breaking a nail. They spend countless days, weeks, and months carefully caring for their nails so that they have a canvas for beautiful artwork only to have their body betray them when a nail breaks. It is even worse when the nail breaks all the way down at the quick because they have to fill all of their nails down and start growing them all over again.

WHYYYYYYYYYY!!!! and always the same nail Ugh!! 😤😤😤

Ouch!

If you think just breaking a nail like the last photo is bad enough, this one will really make you cringe. There are so many ways that a catastrophe like this could happen. And, no matter how it happens, it is very painful and can take forever for an entire nail to grow back. If this happens to a nail blogger, chances are they will go in hiding for awhile.

Acrylic nails damage

Sure acrylic nails look really good, but have you ever wondered if getting them is bad for you? The answer is yes. This is how your nails look underneath all of that acrylic. Even if you have the salon putting on acrylic to help you grown your own natural nails, this will still be what you are left with underneath. Your nails will be thin, dry, and brittle. Plus, where you have new nail growth that is not filled in, the nail is thicker than the rest because they file them down so much before applying your acrylic. If you want long nails, you have two options. Either you can grow them out on your own and invest in some great cuticle and nail strengthening products, or you can wear acrylic on your nails for the rest of your life.

Expectation vs Reality

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Most nail bloggers will encourage people to recreate their manis as long as they give credit to their inspiration. We give this girl an A for effort, but she definitely needs to practice some more.

Image nails

There is a technique that some nail bloggers use that takes photos from magazines or newspapers and transfers those photos seamlessly to their nails. That looks like what they were trying here, but it ended up coming out very wrong. If she wanted eyeballs on her nails, she might have tried her hand at hand-painting them instead.

Is this a joke?

I mean, c'mon, it has to be, right? I cannot even vision the most novice nail painter wanting to show this off. How do you even get so messy? I could see a bit of paint on the cuticle line but all over like this is just confusing. Maybe she painted her nails in the dark as part of a challenge.

Why?

Don't get me wrong, the nail design done with the polish is kind of cute, but why would anyone ruin the shape of their nails like this? They look dangerous, and I bet they tear a hole in the toilet paper every time they wipe their butt. Issa No for me.

Is it just me?

Do these nails make you think of that Tiny Boxes song that played as the intro for the show Weeds? Who puts little people on their nails like this anyway? It must have just been for show since they are totally not functional.

Fans and Crowns

These are some of the worst thought out acrylic nails. The tech who thought that it was cool to do this to someone's nails needs their license revoked. I find it hard to believe that someone actually wanted this done to their nails.

Comic Nails Fail

These kinds of nails appear to be super easy to recreate, but you could not be more wrong for thinking so. It takes a very steady hand and the perfect nail art brush to pull this off. Not everyone is up for the task.

Polish Mountain

Christine from SimplyNailLogical is the mastermind behind "Polish Mountain". She had no idea that when she did this that so many people would follow her. It was just meant to be a joke, but the idea went totally viral, and people all over the world were trying to recreate the look. We love Christine, but this was not one of her best ideas.

Hair nails?

This is something else that makes me cringe. Why would you put hair on your nails? Is it real hair? If so, where did the hair come from? Can hair nails get lice? Do you shampoo and condition it twice a week? As much as I love keeping up with the latest nail trends, you could not pay me enough to do this to my nails.
