Opinions online were split as is usual with the vegan debate. Some people thought what he did was hilarious while others thought the behaviour was crass and gimmicky and diverted from the subject at hand.

The professor tried to hit back at his behaviour and said, “Yeah, that's some nice, dead cow hanging on your fork.” Also adding, “Did God tell you that?"

This user said, "The right-wing seems to think that being a horrible disgusting person as offensive as humanly possible is a 'good thing' -- They really seem to strive on it."

On the other hand, others were all for it, 

"That’s pretty funny. I think if he slaughtered a pig while maintaining vigorous eye contact it could be a bit disrespectful but this is great."
