This Guy Took The Law Into His Own Hands After Cousin Was Kidnapped

It’s every family’s worst nightmare, having a family member go missing. Death is hard to deal with, but the not-knowing that comes with a missing person makes life all the more difficult for friends and family. Well thankfully a family in Layfayette Parish, New Orleans, have managed to recover a relative who was kidnapped by an estranged boyfriend.
When a New Orleans man told police that his cousin had gone missing, he noticed that not enough was being done to locate her. The cops had very few leads and apparently only a few local sweeps were done – which prompted the man to go it alone.
What happened when he set out was truly remarkable, and made the police look more than a little shoddy in their investigation.
Bethany Arceneaux was abducted on November 9.
She was allegedly kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend, Scott Thomas. Thomas is also the father of her 2-year-old son.
A witness to the attack saw what was happening and tried to intervene.
Derrimetrie Robinson heard Arceneaux screaming and honking her car horn. He was able to grab the couple's child before Thomas sped off with Bethany.
Family members immediately began using social media to raise awareness of the abduction.
They spread the word hoping someone in the community would have information about her abduction. They knew time was of the essence.
That attention would pay off when someone spotted her car in an abandoned field.
The family went to investigate and heard Bethany screaming. They immediately began breaking down the door.
Hearing this commotion, Thomas began stabbing Bethany.
The family was able to get inside before he could kill Bethany. An armed family member shot Thomas three times, killing him on the spot.
The family rushed Bethany out of the house and to the hospital.
She was injured and badly shaken up, but she was expected to recover from her injuries. No family member is expected to face charges for the killing of Thomas.
We're so happy this story has a happy ending.
This was an extremely scary situation that could have ended horribly. Thankfully, the members of the family acted quickly and saved Bethany. Great job, everyone!
