Even though the idea of marrying your pet is utterly ridiculous, that did not stop Wilhemina Morgan Callaghan from marrying her Yorkie, Henry. The 43-year-old woman adopted Henry from a breeder friend of hers in 2009. She was inspired to marry him when she found other stories on the internet of people tying the knot with their beloved pets.

Wilhelmina made things official between her and Henry through a website in 2009 with one of her friends, Rebecca Carter, acting as the witness to the ceremony. The couple got a certificate to approve their matrimony, but since marrying your pet is illegal, the joining is strictly spiritual.

When asked why she wanted to marry her dog, she said that he has been there for her more than any man has ever been. She says that dogs are so much better than any man. She says the only man who could ever be as good as her Henry is Gregory Peck. She says people may find her "barking mad," but she plans on being with Henry for life.

Since marrying her dog, things have been rough on Wilhelmina. She says that she lost her morgue job and has been forced to be a freelance embalmer. Then, her house flooded, but Henry has been by her side the entire time.

Wilhelmina and Henry are celebrating their eighth anniversary. She says that her ten other dogs are noticeably jealous of their relationship. She says they get along for the most part, but there are plenty of arguments too.

Thankfully, Henry is a pro at handling the turmoil with the other dogs. He is the peacemaker of the family. Wilhelmina says that whenever she brings a new dog home, Henry is the friendly one who is always first to check them out and say hello.

Here is a fun fact, the happy couple even have their own song. "When I sing it, he runs over. It’s called ‘Henry’s Song’ and it includes the lyrics, ‘Henry is my love. Henry is the one’."

No matter what anyone else has to say about their union, the couple remains strong and unashamed. Wilhelmina focuses her attention on Henry instead of validating anything their haters have to say.

Ummm...ok? While we find this story to be quite strange, to say the least, we wish Wilhelmina all the happiness in the world with the one she loves the most.
