Victoria Salcedo had her limbs removed at the age of six due to an electrical wire incident. She doesn't let that stop her, and she is now a full-time model.
Triple Amputee Model Victoria Salcedo Loves To Inspire People With Her Story
A model who lost both of her arms and one of her legs in a childhood accident expressed her desire to serve as an example to others.
Victoria Salcedo, 26, of Ecuador, had her limbs amputated when she was six years old after inadvertently touching an electrical wire with a stick and suffering third-degree burns.

She, however, has not allowed the accident to hold her back and is now a full-time model.
Victoria admitted that she "never thought" she'd wind up as an influencer, but she now has over 170,000 Instagram followers who watch her progress.
She Said:
"I never thought I’d be an influential person for other people,"
"But I like to share my life with others. I like people writing to me and asking me questions, for them to know that they can count on me."

Salcedo, who lives in Guayaquil, was discovered by a modeling scout when he was 19 years old.
She quickly rose to fame in the industry.
When she competed in the Miss Ecuador contest in 2021, the stunning brunette helped revolutionize views about beauty.
She said:
"I didn’t go there to be accepted. I went there to represent my country, to represent myself as a woman, to represent myself as a soul being, as another form of beauty,"

Victoria grew accustomed to using her right leg to perform daily duties such as eating and applying her hair and cosmetics.

However, after being equipped with a prosthetic limb, she began to exercise and quickly grew addicted to it.

Victoria believes that her prominence may persuade others to reconsider their attitudes toward fellow amputees.
She explained:
"I use what I’ve lived through, what I’ve learned, and I share that,"
"To me, inspiring others is an opportunity to change people’s minds. It is a chance to share part of myself with others."

Salcedo has over 170,000 followers on Instagram — many of whom have praised her for her beauty and enthusiastic approach to life.
One fan fawned beneath a recent photo: "You are the miracle of God,”

While another added that she is “so inspiring.”

Salcedo hopes her visibility will prompt people to think differently about other amputees.
Salcedo isn’t the only inspiring amputee to hit headlines of late.
Last year, Utah teen Sarah Frei went viral after she was seen wakeboarding and skydiving after a double amputation.
The 19-year-old was forced to have both of her legs cut off after she was hit head-on by a drunk driver in 2020.
