#1 The Teenager Who Survived An Accidental Sword Stabbing
Fifteen-year-old Zhang Bin invited friends to his home after school to do homework, but one guest brought the dangerous weapon. Some boyhood play sent the sword, measuring 50cm, right through the center of Zhang's forehead. When rushed to the hospital, the emergency team refused to operate on the boy because they had no experience with such a disastrous accident. His family was forced to drive him over four hours away to the nearest hospital, where doctors saved his life.
"Three classmates came to visit me at home and one of them brought a sword. He stood 7-9 feet away from me," explained Zhang as he recovered in bed. "I don't know how the sword could fly to me and stab into my head. I felt sharp pains and a large amount of blood streamed down."
#2 The Woman Who Was Stabbed With A 15CM Knife And Didn't Notice
Julia Popova, 22-years-old, was mugged in a violent attack in Moscow and got stabbed between her shoulder blades. She never felt the stabbing or the pain afterward. The six-inch blade was plunged into her neck and blood was pouring from the wound profusely but she failed to notice the appalling injury and managed to calmly stroll to safety. The office worker had grappled with her attacker when he snatched her handbag as she walked to her parents' house. After the struggle and stabbing, she walked continued to walk to her parent's house where they rushed her to a hospital where surgeons managed to remove the blade without damaging Julia's spine.
According to one of the medics, "Shock had kicked in and her body prevented her from feeling any pain. She simply walked home without feeling the knife in her back."
#3 The Teenager Sho Survived Stabbing Himself With A Pair Of Scissors
Mark Makarenkov, a 19-year old man from the Russian city of Yekaterinburg has survived after stabbing himself in the head with a pair of scissors. Reports say that he had an argument with is girlfriend when he suddenly reached out and grabbed the scissors and stabbed himself in the temple. He Walked into the room his mother was in where she immediately called an ambulance and he was taken to the hospital. Surgeons operated and performed surgery on Makarenkov to removed the scissors, which were lodged 5cm into the skull. Luckily, he suffered no damage to his eye or brain. Police suspected the girlfriend actually stabbed him and he was covering for her, as she arrived later and begged him to forgive her and take her back.
#4 The Soldier Who Survived A Stab To The Head
James Jackson, 22-years-old, and a US soldier survived being knifed in the forehead by an insurgent while in Afghanistan. Doctors estimate that at least four inches of the 7-inch knife had been plunged into the side of his head. The attack occurred at a cordoned-off blast site. What saved him was medical know-how, great logistics and quite a lot of teamwork. He was later rushed back to the United States and has recovered but has lost sight in his right eye and some facial nerve damage.
#5 The Dog Who Survived Being Stabbed During A Home Burglary
The six-year-old family pet, named Bella, sits calmly on her owner's lap just a few minutes after being stabbed in the skull by burglars. This shocking picture shows how the robbers narrowly missed the animal's eyes as they plunged the deadly blade into her forehead. Vernon Swart, Bella's owner, said he was shocked when he saw what had happened to his best friend following a home invasion.
He said, "I was in the house when the neighbors called to say our dog was running around in the street with a massive knife in her head. I didn't believe them but when I went outside I saw it for myself. The neighbors said they had caught intruders trying to enter their home and they must have then tried to get into my place when Bella attacked them in our garden.," he continued. "I feared the worst and assumed she was going to die, but incredibly she was running around as if nothing had happened." Bella survived a seven-hour operation and the eight-inch diver's knife was later handed to the police as evidence after the surgery. Meanwhile, Bella was recovering at home after her ordeal.
#6 The Man Who Survived A Sword Being Stabbed Into His Eye
Bui Ngoc Tuan, from the central province of Thanh Hoa, had a spat with two cab drivers over the taxi fares after they had taken him together with 10 other people back to their hotel in Dong Hoi City of the central province of Quang Binh. The ten people in the cabs were part of a larger group of 30 who were traveling for work in Vietnam. The 23-year-old man has survived an operation after he was thrust into his left orbit with a sword. Apparently, when the cabbies asked for too much money for the fare, the argument began, and one of the drivers called for local thugs to assist him. One had a word, which he plunged into Bui's eye 50-centimeters! Others were hit with clubs and sticks but after being rushed to a nearby hospital, surgeons said the stabbing was serious and the blade had penetrated almost 10 cm deep inside the socket. His eye was luckily not damaged and neither was any part of his brain, doctors at the hospital confirmed.
#7 The Duck That Survived An Attack At A Park Stabbing
A female mallard, named Lucky, was discovered in Huntington Beach Central Park near the Breakfast in the Park restaurant with a large pocketknife stuck in her upper-right back. Federal and state laws protect birds throughout the county, with punishments including steep fines and jail time. So Lucky was rushed to an emergency animal clinic where they removed the blade from the ducks back. Park volunteers say that a teenager had been spotted three days prior, chasing after ducks with a knife, and since Lucky couldn't fly, she was the victim. She is being treated at the Wetlands and Wildlife Care Center.
#8 The Teenager Who Survived A Kitchen Knife Attack
This harrowing picture shows an x-ray of a 15-year-old boy's skull after a five inch knife was plunged into his head. Amazingly the teenager survived the stabbing and ten months on from the attack has enrolled in college. The boy and two other youngsters were attacked when they tried to stop a friend being robbed at a bus stop in London. The muggers used a kitchen knife to stab one boy in the forehead, another twice in the back and a third in the shoulder. He survived because he was rushed to hospital with the knife still sticking out of his head and doctors managed to operate in time. Surgeons said if anyone had tried to take it out he would have died.
