Unlucky Guy Becomes Minor Celebrity After He Flies Over 4,000 Miles To Meet A Woman Only To Be Rejected.

Finding love online isn't too out of the ordinary these days. With all the dating apps and social media sites out there, it happens all the time. Just like anything else in life, however, online dating does have a dark site. If you thought that catfishing and potential murders were the only thing you had to worry about when meeting someone online you couldn't be more wrong.
This British man, Glyn Thomas Bailey, found that out the hard way. You see, Bailey flew all the way to the Dominican Republic to meet a woman he had talked to online for over 6 months. Sadly, he would discover that his online love wouldn't translate to the real world. Now he is stuck in the country after the woman he loves rejected him.
Love doesn't come easy for everyone.
Glyn Thomas Bailey thought that he had found love however, his internet sweetheart, Wilfa Soto Peguero had other ideas. When he flew all the way from the U.K. to meet her in the Dominican Republic she rejected him. It wasn't because she wasn't attracted to him or that they lacked chemistry. The reason she rejected him was simply that he is broke. Peguero said: "I asked him to send me money so I could go and fetch him from the airport and he never sent me anything."
Peguero felt that she couldn't leave him hanging.
When Bailey arrived at the airport, Peguero borrowed $320 just to be able to go pick him up. She said: "But as he was coming to meet me I couldn’t just abandon him like he was a nobody so I decided to borrow money to go to the airport."
Bailey used Google Translate for the entire 6 months that he spent communicating with Peguero just so he could understand her.
Bailey tried to explain his circumstances and how he could help her.
Bailey said that he told Peguero from the very start that he was not wealthy but would help her raise her kids in any way that he could. Sadly, Peguero was looking for someone who would be able to support her financially so she decided that he needed to leave if he wasn't going to bring in more money.
Peguero learned that Bailey planned on staying.
She explained: "Later, when I checked his ticket, I realized he’d come with the intention of staying here, and I can’t look after him."
While she felt bad for him for having come so far just to be with her she could not continue supporting him as she has her own kids to feed.
She made it clear that he has to go.
She said: "I have explained it to him a thousand ways. If I had my own house, I’d let him stay but I don’t. I’ve got to look after him because he hasn’t got any money."
He's become a minor star because of all of this.
Peguero continued saying: "I’ve got my heart, and I’m not going to refuse him food when he’s not giving me any money but I can’t look after him."
This whole mess has made Bailey into a bit of celebrity in the Dominican Republic. When she told him to leave, she posted a video that begged for help sending him back home because she couldn't afford to keep feeding him. Thanks to this hilarious video Bailey is now known worldwide. You can see the video below:
She warned others not to try to find love on the net.
During the video, Pegeuro said: "I’m making this video for many young people, for many women, so that they learn from what happened to me and don’t try to find love online."
Her neighbors even pitched in to help.
Once the video went viral, local news started reporting on Bailey's story. It wasn't long before Kevin Osiris Mendez, Peguero's neighbor' stepped in. He helped feed Bailey but admitted that it was time for him to go. He said: "We’ve all been worried. I’m a friend of Wilfa’s and a friend of the family, and this has been a headache for us."
Hopefully, he has learned from this mess.
It's not the smartest move to fly all the way to a new country while you're broke and haven't met the person you're in love with. I know love will make you do some off the wall shit, but come on.
