Donald "Chip" Pugh texted his selfie to the police after looking at his terrible mugshot. In an interview with an Ohio radio station, Mr. Pugh who was in hiding, said; "Man, they just did me wrong."

US escapee named Donald "Chip" Pugh sent the police his selfie after seeing his mugshot and finding it not so impressive.

He wrote: "Here is a better photo that one is terrible".

His brave act made headlines while the police were on the hunt

The Ohio police took to their Facebook page and asked for help in locating Mr. Pugh.

"This photo was sent to us by Mr. Pugh himself," Lima Police Department wrote in a post.

The police started their post's caption in a sarcastically funny tone

"We thank him for being helpful, but now we would appreciate it if he would come to speak to us at the [Lima Police Department] about his charges."

The police refer to Mr. Pugh as a person of interest

Mr. Pugh's warrant is for his failure to appear as directed in a summons.

He got so famous that he was interviewed by an Ohio radio station where he told why he sent that selfie.

Mr. Pugh said the police did him wrong by posting a picture that made him look like a Thundercat on the run

"They put a picture out that made me look like I was a Thundercat... or James Brown on the run. I can't do that."
