A server has hit out at a woman who didn't tip on a $650 takeout order.
A server has expressed frustration over a customer who chose not to leave a tip on a substantial $650 takeout order.
The debate around tipping continues to be divisive, with some arguing that tips should not be expected unless the service is exceptional, while others feel slighted if the tip they receive is considered too small.
Adding a new dimension to this ongoing discussion is a recent incident involving a customer who ordered takeaway and decided against leaving any tip whatsoever.
Dean Redmonds, a server and content creator, took his frustration to TikTok on Friday (15 March), highlighting a situation where a woman placed a large order and didn't tip him or his colleagues "on a $650 takeout order."

In his video, Dean detailed that the customer made a "50-item order" early at 9:00 am.
Which prompted him to call her to explain that preparing such a large order would require an additional 30 minutes.
Unfortunately, the customer's response to this news was less than understanding.
Dean recounted how the woman, whom he referred to as 'Karen,' expressed her displeasure at the delay, promptly hanging up and ignoring his attempts to call back.
Assuming the customer was joking, the restaurant team continued to work diligently to have the order ready by 10:00 am.
At 9:30 am, the woman arrived at the restaurant and confronted one of Dean's co-workers.
Dean intervened, explaining he was the one who had spoken with her on the phone.
The woman responded, "You asked me if we could give you 30 more minutes at which point I said no."

She then proceeded to compare her experience unfavorably with other restaurants, declined Dean's offer of some water, and after receiving her order, left without leaving any tip – "on a $650 order," as Dean emphasized.
Dean shared his disbelief, "Not $5, not $2, nothing. No thank yous, leaves. Forty minutes later I got a tap on my back, I turn around, I almost jump when I see her. She's like, 'Is there a reason you gave us all dry sandwiches? No ketchup, no hot sauce, no mustard?'"
Frustrated, Dean felt compelled to show her to the self-serve center, which clearly indicated where sauces could be found.
"I am so done, I almost dragged her by her had over to the self serve center where it literally says self serve sauces."
To add insult to injury, the woman went on to leave the restaurant a negative review, accusing Dean and his team of intentionally providing "dry sandwiches" out of spite for her early arrival.
However, the customer inadvertently revealed her name in the review, allowing Dean and his colleagues to discover she worked at a nearby company.
And whether rightly or wrongly, the servers then embarked on some pretty cunning revenge.
Dean resolves: "So we went on to Google reviews with our parents accounts and wrote her really nice reviews with her name in them."
The story quickly gained traction on TikTok, sparking a variety of reactions.
One user exclaimed, "NO TP PN $650 IS WILD," highlighting the shock at the absence of a tip for such a large order.
Another suggested, "As soon as I saw a $600 order, I would have said I'm sorry you need to contact our catering team," suggesting a different approach to handling large orders.
Others debated the expectations around tipping for takeout orders, with one user stating, "Bro it's a takeout order. I'm pro tipping, but carryout doesn't get tipped," and another simply saying, "I order I picked up... No tip," expressing their stance on not tipping for orders they collect themselves.
