#1 Sad Day For The Football Community

A sad day for the footballing community, indeed. The Washington States Cougars Quarterback, Tyler Hilinski has died in an apparent suicide. According to the police, Hilinski apparently died from a self-inflicted gunshot.

#2 Young Life Taken Too Early

The Pullman police released an official statement, confirming the sad demise of the footballer. According to the statement, Police responded to 1620 NE Northwood Dr, Aspen Village Apartments at 4:30 pm on January 16 to check up on Hilinski after the player failed to appear at his practice the day before.

Upon entering the apartment, the Police found Hilinski's body along with the suicide note. The Whitman County Coroner's Office and the Police detectives are said to be doing a thorough investigation to confirm the cause of death. The authorities are yet to reveal the contents of the note.

#3 Fans And Fellow Players Shocked By The News

Coach Mike Leach upon hearing the shocking news said the Washington State Community is mourning the death of their player. Mr Leach released an official statement, "We are deeply saddened to hear the news of Tyler's passing. He was an incredible young man and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him was better for it. The entire WSU community mourns as thoughts and prayers go out to his family."

#4 A Promising Future Ahead

The 21-year old player was a rising star and was already on his way to success. Studying at Washington State University in 2015, Hilinski became the backup quarterback for the Cougars in 2016. As a sophomore, he came off the bench to relieve starting quarterback Luke Falk against the Boise State Broncos and even overcame a deficit to win the game for his team. Hilinski threw for 240 yards and three touchdowns coming off the bench and was carried off the field by his teammates after the victory.

#5 Counselling Available For All The Players

Washington State University Interim Director of Athletics, John Johnson posted an official statement expressing his condolences upon the untimely departure of Tyler Hilinski. Along with it Johnson also notified to all the players to seek counselling from the department's psychologist.

"Earlier tonight, the football team was brought together and informed of the tragedy. There, they were met by campus and department counseling and psychological services, including athletics' on-staff clinical psychologist and a licensed mental health counselor, along with WSU Athletics medical team. The university will continue to coordinate and provide ongoing counseling care for all student-athletes as long as needed."

#6 Mourning The Loss Of Their Friend

Devastated fellow players took to social media to express their grievances. Defensive back Skyler Thomas tweeted, "Ty you were a great teammate, friend, brother anything we needed you to be. You brought smiles to the people around you. I am sorry I could not be there for you when you needed a smile for yourself. Love you man."

#7 Condolences On Social Media

Fellow quarterback John Bledsoe tweeted, "God, let Tyler find peace. Everyone, please pray for the Hilinski family tonight. Heaven received a very special person."

#8 RIP Young Man...

Hilinski's younger brother Ryan Hilinksi who was offered to join his brother as part of Washington State University team as part of 2019 recruitment also posted on social media asking for prayers for his family. "Please keep my family in your prayers tonight." Ryan Hilinski has not yet committed to the team.
