#5 Most Probably Chapman Will Be Granted Bail This Time

Now 63, Chapman is locked in at the Wende Correctional Facility and has spent a total 38 years in prison and has been trying for parole ever since he became eligible in 2000. But every time his parole was rejected but it seems like Chapman will be granted bail this time, in what appears to be his tenth time. The board was always conscious of his, 'premeditated and celebrity-seeking nature of his crime' and never granted him bail because of this but Chapman's rehabilitative efforts and his acceptance that the crime was 'premeditated, selfish, and evil,' have been accepted by the board to some extent and there is a fat chance that this time he will be released from the prison.

According to Chapman, he has been repenting his actions for long and considers himself stupid for choosing the wrong way of glory. He claims, "At that time, I wasn't thinking about anybody else, just me. But now, you know, obviously through people's letters and through things I hear a lot of people were affected here. I am sorry for causing that type of pain. I am sorry for being such an idiot and choosing the wrong way for glory."

#6 Lennon's Wife Does Not Want Chapman To Be Released From The Prison

However, there is still one person who is against Chapman's release and that is Lennon's wife Yuko Ono and every time Chapman's parole gets reviewed Ono strongly opposes the idea and has written to the parole board multiple times, asking the board to not release Chapman as his freedom could be a potential threat for Yoko Ono and not forgetting her two sons, adding that there was also always the possibility of retribution from Beatles fans too.

Reportedly both Gloria and Mark Chapman have written to Ono, asking for her forgiveness, but it seems like only time will tell whether Ono has accepted their apology or not.
