Many couples have been together for years and are happy in their world. They boast of knowing each other very well and promise to be by one another’s side till death does them part. However, the strength of a relationship does not depend on the amount of time you spent together, rather, the different situations you have faced together.
In good times, we have the whole world in our hand, but when we are going through difficult times, it is then that a relationship is tested.
Sometimes one truth is enough to shatter the foundation of age-old bonds, like the unveiling of an act of infidelity. We humans quickly give into temptations and sometimes our mistakes are so grave that they turn irreparable, even if we pray and whine.
The woman in this story lost herself in a moment of enticement and committed adultery. She lived through it, and it gradually started affecting her marriage, and then she could not contain it anymore. She told her husband about it, in spite of knowing that this will shatter her relationship with him. But, the way her husband reacted to it was not even close to any of the consequences she had thought of.
The story goes like this:
When a man and his wife had been together about 4 years, she became pregnant.
They had only been married for about a month and they had taken precautions to avoid pregnancy, so the man was a little alarmed.
The wife eventually admitted that she had to tell him something.
He knew it would be bad when she began by telling him how much she loved him.
One night, she was out with her girlfriends, and she got extremely drunk.
While she was alone outside, she met a man.
Making a terrible decision, she went home with him.
They ended up having unprotected sex.
She didn't know for sure, but she knew it was possible that the baby could be his.
This left the husband in a terrible bind. On the one hand, he still loved his wife very much. On there other hand, she had betrayed him.
The man thought about his situation for some time.
In the end, he decided that they shouldn't throw away years of good times just because of one mistake.
He ended up raising the child as his own.
The child is starting school soon, and the man has no regrets. He knows that he made the right decision for himself and his family.
