Woman, Who Was Four Months Pregnant, Burnt Alive In A Car By Married Lover After She Refused To Abort Her Unborn Child
A 24-year-old pregnant woman from Brazil was burnt alive by her married lover
Ellen Priscila Ferreira da Silva, 24, was told to abort her baby but she refused to do so. Ellen was 4 months pregnant and wanted to continue her pregnancy. She was mercilessly burnt alive in a car along with Ely Carlos dos Santos, 39, in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
When the police reached the incident, they both were already dead. The police believe they were alive when they were tied up, petrol was poured on the car, and the vehicle was set alight.
The car belonged to the girl's mother
The car was recognized by Ellen's family. After investigation, four suspects have been taken in by the police - three men, aged 19, 35, and 38, and a 36-year-old woman.
The woman and the teenager have confessed but the men are refusing that they are involved.
Paulo de Tars, the officer leading the case, told local media: "It was a premeditated and very cruel crime."
Police are investigating why they were murdered
"One of the suspects even personally comforted the victim's mother after her death was confirmed."
He added: "The victim was four months pregnant by one of the suspects, who is married."
"His wife, who confessed, and who is also pregnant, knew."
Police believe the reason might be that Ellen refused to abort the child of her married lover
Mr de Tarso said: "Ellen and Ely Carlos may have been in debt to a drug dealer who was also arrested."
"Another point is that Ellen refused to abort the child conceived in the extramarital relationship."
The father of Ellen's baby, the 38-year-old married man is believed to be the main suspect.
Police investigated and found out the 38-year-old man's car had traveled to the crime scene
The man denied and said he had also been attacked. He told police he pretended to faint to avoid being burnt alive.
He was still the main suspect, he later confessed to twisting the story and self-inflicting his wounds under the effect of drugs and he said he knew the couple.
Another suspect is believed to have helped the main suspect
The other man is believed to have allegedly helped pour petrol on the victims. Police are still investigating the case and soon the culprits would be punished for their crimes.
