#1 TUCSON, Ariz.An Arizona woman said she made a shocking discovery in a purse she recently purchased at Walmart.

A Sierra Vista woman says she believes she found a note from a Chinese "prisoner" pleading for help, claiming he or she was being forced to work under abusive conditions.

The woman said the purse was bought at a Wal-Mart. After she found the note, written in Chinese, the woman had the note translated three times to be certain it was correct.

The Wallace family posted the note on Facebook with a request for help translating it. To ensure the translation was correct, the Wallace family had it translated three separate times. Every translation pointed towards the same shocking truth.

This note is the latest in a series that have popped up from time to time. Each note has described similar severe labor conditions.

#3 In a plea for help, an alleged Chinese prisoner authored the note.

The note, which the woman said she had translated three times to make sure the translations were accurate, said that the person who wrote it is a prisoner who is forced to work 14 hours a day with little food or medical help, KTVK reported.

Similar letters have been found in recent years.

The woman, who was not identified, said she isn’t able to help the unnamed worker, but hopes that someone can now that the alleged note has come to light.

Li Qiant, executive director of China Labor Watch, a group in New York that advocates for improved factory conditions, commented on these notes. “Most … Walmart supplier factories in China have very poor labor conditions.”

“The only worse and cheaper work conditions” would be in prisons, he continued. “Some of (Walmart’s) orders were indeed made in the factories of prisons.”
