A woman was caught on camera having a dramatic meltdown on the New York subway after suddenly declaring that she was 'fat'.

The distressed woman was filmed by fellow passengers on the Manhattan-bound Q train, one of whom then posted the video on YouTube.

It is unclear what provoked the woman's panicked state, however the video begins with the passenger, dressed in shorts and desert boots, lifting up her sweater and putting it behind her head to reveal a bikini top.
She then makes a sound as she pulls back her hair and then notices her stomach, as if for the first time, and shouts 'what the f**k is this?' as she grabs at her flesh.
The woman stands up and starts shouting 'oh my God I'm so fat' before screaming and sinking back into the subway seat.

She pulled at her stomach, slapped it and shook her body as she wailed and shouted while being filmed by fellow passengers.
