Users of the digital platform TikTok believe it would be disrespectful for the woman who modeled the exposing little black dress to wear it at a funeral because she claimed it was a "super modest" outfit.
Woman Slammed For 'Inappropriate' Funeral Outfit That Has Extreme Cut-Out Detail
A woman has been criticized for advising clients to wear an incredibly exposing dress at a funeral.
The small company owner of the British label "EdgyLittlePieces" uploaded a video to TikTok while dressed in what she calls the "perfect" funeral attire.
Her entire torso was exposed thanks to the big cutouts in the black halter-neck minidress, which also had spaghetti straps that crossed over her neck, chest, breasts, and stomach.
She said the following in the video, which has received more than 62,000 views: "Hi ladies. So we've had so many people asking for funeral fits and we've just got this piece in today, so look no further.”
"We think it's absolutely perfect."
The video's description, which has received more than 54,000 likes, reads: "Funeral dresses back on pre-order now."
When viewers came upon the dress, they couldn't believe what they were witnessing and deemed it "inappropriate" and "disrespectful" for the event.
One user said: "Is it me or does this seem disrespectful?"
Another added: "There’s no way someone would wear that to a funeral."
A third commented: "For a funeral bit inappropriate."
"If I put this on for a funeral I think I would get disowned," a fourth said.
Some people also said that the attire would be more fitting for a party or nightclub.
The model, however, has now addressed the issue and stated that the dress is "super modest" and that consumers appear to be pleased with it.
In an additional video, she argued: "[I] have to disagree.”
"We’ve had so many girls wear this to funerals and they messaged us and said they got so many compliments."
“It’s super covered up, it doesn’t show any cleavage, and it’s super modest as well.”
