The quite famous advertisement where KFC shows a bucket filled with fried chicken for $20, certainly created some misconceptions to a woman, Anna Wurtzburger of Hudson Valley, New York. And she did NOT take it well.

When she bought the $20 bucket, she was expecting that it would've filled up to the brim. But to her surprise when she opened it, she saw that the bucket was just half way full!

According to The New York post she said, "They're showing a bucket that's overflowing with chicken, You get half a bucket! That's false advertising and it doesn't feed the whole family. They're small pieces!"

Clearly she was pissed, since the bucket did not actually "feed the whole family". She called up the headquarters to report the incident, what she received from the other end fueled up rage to such an extent that sued KFC. They told her that the overflowing bucket was to show the chicken to the public.

Though the KFC menu states that there would be 8 pieces of chicken, it is not advertised. Hence she finds it "misleading".
According to The New York post, the company had offered the woman two gift certificates, but she returned them back.

She has clearly asked the company to change the advertisement. And was "kind" to give them suggestions, she said they should take ideas from the movie ‘Oliver': "It was about the little boy growing up in the orphanages and he was hungry and he goes to the man, ‘Can I have some more?"‘

The lawsuit, filed in a New York State Supreme Court, sued KFC for violating section's of states's general business law. The plaintiff is demanding that KFC alter its advertising and pay $20 million in damages.
KFC, however, says that this is a ridiculous reason (read: "meritless") and would request the court to dismiss the case.
So folks, next you visit a fast food joint, make sure you pay close attention to what the ad says!
