In a series of body-positive TikTok videos, a woman with a prominent belly button happily flaunts her enormous navel in crop tops and low-rise shorts. Chi, who goes by the Instagram name @iam amakae, became viral earlier this month after posting a video of herself dancing in a long-sleeve white blouse that showed her stomach.

Chi has avoided most questions concerning her belly button and has never explained what it is, even though many people believe it is an umbilical hernia.

According to the Mayo Clinic, an umbilical hernia occurs when a section of the intestine bulges through an opening in the abdominal muscles at the belly button.

They're more common in babies, but they can also happen in adults, and they're more likely to require surgery.

Rather than hiding the bump on her stomach, she has chosen to show it off on TikTok and Instagram alongside motivational messages about self-love.

'Body perfect. Love yourself,' she captioned one clip.

'Self-confidence, the real me,' she wrote in another.

Chi often dances with her stomach bulge on full display in her videos, and she usually only reacts to commenters who admire her and her confidence.

However, this hasn't prevented viewers from discussing the protrusion and speculating on what caused it.

'The doctor probably didn’t cut her umbilical cord properly when she was first born so it grew like that, the same happened to my cousin,' one person wrote.

'I'm sure it's an umbilical hernia,' another added. 'My little girl had one when she was born but hers went down, you beautiful girl!'

Many people have advised her to have surgery to remove the bulge, but she has stated that she does not have the financial means to do so.

'OK to those of [you who say] she should go to the hospital for operation/surgery give her MONEY to do that,' one person commented. 'What is wrong with some of u errr.'

'Exactly,' Chi responded.

'Go [to the] hospital,' someone else added. 'They will help you will do [the] operation.'

'Nope I love me,' she hit back.
