The tortilla chips, made by Paqui Chips of South Carolina, are so potent that they are sold only in packages of one. And that one chip is packaged in a tiny coffin shaped box containing the foil wrapped chip, which the company recommends opening with a plastic glove on.

#4 A Burning Combination

It took almost a year to create the perfect spicy seasoning for the chip, which combines the Carolina Reaper pepper with ghost peppers and chipotle seasoning.

The chip gets its kick (and then some extra kick) from the Carolina Reaper Pepper, the Guinness Book of World Records holder for Hottest Chili Pepper on Earth. The extra seasoning is just for an added flavor to make the chip a little more than a burning slice of fried corn and flour.

"It's the hottest chip you'll ever have, I can guarantee you that. After you eat that one chip, trust me, you're not looking to dig back into the bag and have a second one. So, one chip is what we created to have the experience," he says.

The Grim Reaper on the package should serve as a fair warning to anyone attempting to munch on this devilish snack. "The reason that we're selling this as one chip is because quite honestly, that's all that you need. That's all that anyone needs," Day said. Inside, the box warns consuming one is likely to cause "short-term loss of speech followed by extreme profanity, heavy breathing, enhanced sinus functions, and impaired vision from heat-induced tears."

#8 Special Precautions For Consuming

As an extra warning to tasters, the package contains instructions on just how to handle the chip. They recommend wearing rubber gloves because the seasoning could get into your eyes and cause excruciating pain. The also advice on not washing the chip down with a cold glass of water because that will only spread the spiciness around, making the whole experience even harder to bear. They recommend drinking milk or honey after munching on the mouth burning chips.
